Participate in National Walk@Lunch Day at the Yards!
On Wednesday, April 29, local Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies, businesses large and small across the country will encourage employees to wear comfortable shoes and take a walk at lunch. We all know walking isa great lifetime exercise that is good for our health & wellness. Walking as little as 30 minutes per day, at least five days per week can lower one’s risk of Type II diabetes, hypertension, and coronary artery disease. Plus it just feels good to get out of the office to relieve stress.
According to Blue Cross and Blue Shield, “National Walk@Lunch Day® is designed to complement—not compete with—your busy lifestyle. Created to improve personal health and decrease the costs of healthcare for employers and employees, National Walk@Lunch Day is the start of your new daily walking routine, helping you to improve your health step by step.”
At The Yards Athletic Club we would love to support this effort and invite you to walk with us at lunch on Wednesday, April 29th. If you are interested in walking at lunch grab a few co-workers and meet us at the gym at 11:45 a.m. We will walk for 30 minutes through the Historic West Bottoms. In case of inclement weather we will host a walking class consisting of low-impact aerobic walking movements (no fancy dance moves required).
As an added bonus all new guests will receive two FREE day passes to The Yards Athletic Club and Blood Pressure Screenings. Join us to walk at lunch and take steps towards fitness!Tags: april, blue cross blue shield, fitness, walk@lunch, walking, walking event
